The word comes from ancient Greek, where it simply translates to fish. The symbol gained immense significance in early Christianity as a secret acrostic, with each Greek letter standing for a word in the phrase: Iēsous Christos, Theou Huios, Sōtēr. In English, this translates to: Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior. Ships promptly and securely from my smoke-free home.
