Nippon Style Cobalt Blue Rose Vase Hand Painted Porcelain Double Handle 8.5in
Unmarked
A gorgeous statement vase with all the drama—deep cobalt blue, lush hand-painted roses, lavish gold detailing, and an especially graceful double-handled silhouette. This unmarked porcelain vase appears to be in the style of early 20th-century Japanese export/Nippon-era decorative porcelain. The unusual squat bell-shaped body, flared rim, applied handles, and three-footed base give it wonderful architectural presence. Pink and burgundy roses are surrounded by soft green foliage, cobalt panels, and extensive gilt ornamentation. • Style/Period: Early 20th-century Japanese export / Nippon-era style; attribution is based on decorative characteristics and the piece is unmarked • Material/Color: Porcelain with hand-painted pink roses, cobalt blue ground, green foliage, and gold gilt decoration • Size: Approx. 8.5 tall x 7 diameter • Details: Double handles, flared shaped rim, three decorative feet, and floral decoration continuing around the body • Condition: Very good vintage condition with visible rubbing and wear to the gold decoration consistent with age. A few small areas of decoration loss are present. No chips or cracks noted in the provided photos. Please see all close-up photos for details. A beautiful cabinet, mantel, console, or collected-interior piece with rich color and exceptional decorative impact. Your vase will be carefully wrapped using our fragile-item protocol and double-boxed when appropriate for safe transit. Thank you for shopping Vintage Charma!
